Breaking News: Altercation at Lagos Federal High Court Leads to Arrest of Ikoyi Prisons Officer

In a recent incident at the Federal High Court in Lagos, tension escalated between the Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) operatives over the custody of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele. The court had summoned Emefiele on charges related to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and he was subsequently granted bail, set at N20 million with one surety.

The situation took a heated turn during the process of fulfilling his bail conditions when a confrontation erupted between DSS and NCS operatives, both vying to take custody of the embattled CBN governor. The struggle between the two agencies lasted for several minutes until the DSS eventually backed down, allowing the NCS to take custody of Emefiele.

Following the incident, Emefiele was transported to the NCS headquarters in Kirikiri, where he will remain until his bail conditions are met. The intense clash between the DSS and NCS has attracted significant attention, leading to the subsequent arrest of Mr. Tunde Kuye, the Officer in Charge (OC) of Ikoyi Prisons, by the DSS.

The situation remains under scrutiny, and further developments are expected as the case unfolds.
