Lagos State has a new Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale, who has officially assumed his role as the 40th Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command. A devastating flood in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, led to the escape of over 200 inmates, including several Boko Haram commanders, after part of the prison wall collapsed. An official from the Nigerian Correctional Center, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the flood, caused by heavy rainfall, breached the perimeter of the Maiduguri New Prison on Tuesday. The flood not only allowed the inmates to escape but also left a portion of the facility damaged. “The rain was intense, causing severe flooding that damaged our prison’s wall.
