Shehu Sani Expresses Grief and Condolences Following Terrorist Ambush on Nigerian Military Troops



Former Nigerian Senator, author, and activist Shehu Sani has shared his heartfelt reaction to the recent tragic ambush executed by a terrorist group targeting Nigerian military troops in Niger State.


Sani, in a recent online post, expressed his deep sorrow, saying, "I found it difficult to watch the video clip depicting the ambush on our troops by terrorists in Niger State." He conveyed his profound sympathy and respect for the soldiers' dedication to service, acknowledging the profound sacrifice they made. Sani extended his condolences to the Nigerian Army and the bereaved families.



This devastating incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday between the Zangiwa and Kangara Area of Niger State. The ambush, reportedly carried out by a terrorist group, resulted in the loss of more than 20 soldiers and senior military officers.


Among the victims were two lieutenants, a major, and several other officers who fell prey to this unprecedented attack. The assailants exhibited unparalleled brutality, setting some of the victims on fire inside a Hilux vehicle.


In light of the tragic events, Sani's sentiments encapsulate the nation's shared grief and appreciation for the soldiers' unwavering commitment to safeguarding their country. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Nigerian troops in their fight against terrorism.
