MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has announced an upcoming price adjustment for its subscription packages, effective from May 1, 2024. This adjustment comes after a recent review of prices. In a statement titled "Price Adjustment on DStv and GOtv Packages," the company expressed understanding of the potential impact on customers but cited the increasing costs of business operations as the reason behind the decision. Despite this change, MultiChoice reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality content and exceptional service to its customers. The new prices for DStv packages are as follows:

- Premium: N37,000
- Compact Plus: N25,000
- Compact: N15,700
- Confam: N9,300
- Yanga: N5,100
- Padi: N3,600
- HDPVR Access Service: N5,000
- Access Fees: N5,000
- XtraView: N5,000

For GOtv packages, the new prices are:

- Supa+: N15,700
- Supa: N9,600
- Max: N7,200
- Jolli: N4,850
- Jinja: N3,300
- Smallie: N1,575

A devastating flood in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, led to the escape of over 200 inmates, including several Boko Haram commanders, after part of the prison wall collapsed. An official from the Nigerian Correctional Center, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the flood, caused by heavy rainfall, breached the perimeter of the Maiduguri New Prison on Tuesday. The flood not only allowed the inmates to escape but also left a portion of the facility damaged. “The rain was intense, causing severe flooding that damaged our prison’s wall.
