Lagos Taskforce Serves Removal Notice To Occupants Of Illegal Structures At Alaba-rago

Lagos State Taskforce, under the leadership of CSP Shola Jejeloye, has issued a removal notice to occupants of illegal structures and shanties in Alaba-rago, located in the Ojo Local Government Area. They are directed to vacate the area immediately.

This notice follows a previous warning given on May 19, 2022, urging the occupants to relocate from the settlement, which has been slated for demolition by the State Government. Jejeloye described the living conditions in the area as deplorable and unsuitable for human habitation due to unhygienic practices and the proximity of the shanties to canals and drainage systems.

"Illegal traders, occupants, and troublemakers must prepare to leave this area soon. Despite previous eviction notices, they have persisted in occupying this space against government directives," Jejeloye emphasized.

He reassured them that the notice issued two years ago remains valid and will be enforced in the near future.

"Some occupants may believe the notice from two years ago has expired, but I want to assure them it is still in effect. They should be prepared for demolition at any moment," Jejeloye affirmed.

He pledged the Taskforce's unwavering commitment to eradicate environmental degradation in Lagos State, emphasizing strict enforcement of environmental laws in line with the THEMES PLUS agenda of the State Government.
